I have had them do just fine with cichlids, and the cichlids were the ones that had to watch out! It really depends on what kind of cichlid and how big the crays are. Give them caves and hidey holes.

In our cray tanks we have pyramids made of PVC pipe , cut in 6-8 inch lengths and glued together with aquarium glue . 1 size big enough for the adults to get into , and another size for babies to hide in.

Are these the blue crayfish? I have had them before, I just don't remeber their exact name. But I had an issue with my oscars picking on them, but they stopped after awhile and a couple of pincher nips =) But the cray fish got along with everyone in my tanks.
