| I found this heater, and I was wondering if anyone has ever used one?

| Did you find it for a better price then that? For less money you could buy a http://www.fosterandsmithaquatics.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+3743+22042&pcatid=22042
300 watts = good to 264 gallons
Lot more bang for the buck imo. If you found it for dirt cheap then I can't tell you much since I have never used one. I put two of these in my sump for a 75G tank +55G sump and it hold the temp exactly where it should. I only really needed one of them but wanted a back up for the future Discus that will be in there!

That thing has to stick out of the water. I have a lip on my tank and I don't think it will have clearance to stick out very far.

| From the product info box
"Fully submersible aquarium heater with dry-run protection"
You can put it under the water. The 300 watt heater is very large though, but depending on the size tank you can get a smaller one that will have the ability to heat much larger aquariums.

| No problem the two 300's are the first heaters from them I have tried but I have to say I am really happy with them. To keep a large volume of water at with .5 degrees all the time is good in my book. | |
