| No ideas on what happened unless something spiked in the chemical balance, sure you already checked that. However spikes can dissipate quickly. Sorry about this. Mooreish Idol, wow, good luck from here on. | |

| If the cow fish died first, he coulda released a toxin that wiped everything else out... we had that happen to us several years ago... we tore down the salt water tank after that... | |

| Sorry for you loss I agree with jb. If the only odd thing to happen was one fish death I would look towards that but I suppose it would depend on how long he sat in the tank dead. Outside of that some kind of spike caused by...? that at this point has vanished or is too distorted by the other deaths to be clear. Unless you find some kind of red flag I don't think the cause will ever be known for sure. Again sorry for your loss I always hate to hear these stories... | |

| I knew a guy that had a similar thing happen he couldn't figure out what happened then he found out that someone sprayed air sanitizer around the house a product like Lysol needless to say it settled on the tank and killed everything within hrs not saying this is what happened to you but did anyone spray anything around the house? what are your params? temp? etc. | |

| did you check for stray voltage? I know some stock are more sensitive to it than others that could account for some dying and some not. | |

| if your params check out and theres no stray voltage. no accidental chemicals sprayed near the tank. nothing new added recently? no additives added recently? anything on your hands the last time you worked on the tank? I don't know it could be anything, do you own any other pets?

| wow....ive had a massive crash similar to that but it was chemical...caused a massive amonia spike...hmm.....and 15 yrs.. you know what your doing to keep idols...what has me is the fact that the anemones are all good...do u have a sea apple?...the only thing i didnt see you mention was the temp of the tank...do u run a heater..i had a buddy who's heater went out over night...killed 99% of her tank overnight. hows the water break on the surface and circulation? maybe there wasnt enough oxygen in the tank and slowly suffocated a few fish, that would trigger a fairly quick chain reaction..m just throwing out random ideas here though.. | |
