| I woke up this morning and I can't find my condylactis anemone anywhere! It was there last night and now it's not! It was walking around the tank for the past week or so trying to find a spot and last night was on the wall of the tank under the protein skimmer.... Where could it have gone? I am debating on moving around the live rock to look for it, but don't want to disturb my growth. They can't jump out of tanks can they? Maybe a cat ate it, but I don't know how... There's a canopy on the tank, I've checked my refugium and my over flow box and can't find it! Any ideas? This is really weird! | |

| does your protein skimmer have a sponge over the intake? if not check to see if it got sucked up into the intake of your protein skimmer pump, if it is not there then it may have went behind the rocks. i would not move the rocks around looking for it personally but do monitor your water parameters and if things start to go bonkers then you may need to. |

| How'd you get your response above my initial post? It's not in the protein skimmer... There's no way to get into it for something the size of my anemone... I've looked around the whole tank and I'm just gobsmacked as to how he could completely disappear! | |

| as far as my post above yours no clue (it happens sometimes ). as far as no way to get into the skimmer does the skimmer have a pump on it with an opening for water intake? if so then it could have been sucke into the intake of teh skimmer (if it is not the pump type disregard). if it is a pump type has your skimmer started going crazy? if no then your nem is most likely behind the rocks, if your skimmer is going crazy then the nem most likeley is in the skimmer (although you may not recognize it considering it would be more like nem puree or nem smoothy). basically if your skimmer has not started going ballistic in its duties of skimming outstuff then your nem is probably in a crevise or hiding out behind the rocks. |

| Found him! He went into the overflow box & got sucked into the refugium... What a ride!!! I guess I didn't see him earlier cause he was still "traveling" on his way down! I just can't figure out how he got into the overflow box to begin with & now how do I keep him out of this situation | |

no anemones actually move to find a spot they like they are not plants but living creatures. and even though they find a spot they like they may eventually move again later. they get food in 2 ways, making it from light via zooanthelle within them and by eating meaty foods (silversides, mysis, etc). |

| NOOOOOO I like my plants too much... And with fresh I know what I'm doing... Most of the time Salt will be at some point in the future but not now. I do have a bunch of odds and ends for salt that came with some used tanks I bought. So I'm slooooowly starting I guess? |

| I have a skimmer and some other strange gizmos I was told were for salt. I figure I will keep them. I have it all in a box in my garage. So when I do try salt I will have some of the odds and ends. |

seeing as how you are in sw fl you should be able to go cheap, i mean you are close to the oceanwhy not move onto a beach and use a pump to bring in fresh sea water and return your tank water to the ocean (who needs waterchanges ) |
