Maybe make is an "Upstate NY" group?.. That would bring in ROchester, maybe Buffalo, Oswego, Watertown, Schnectedy, Ithaca, Elmira and Binghamton?.. all within a 2 hr drive for meetings in Syracuse. Your talking about 4 million people in that market!
We in Va cover about 2.5 hrs drive from our centralized location in Richmond..Good luck with your efforts.. It's a kick seeing a group grow from ground zero.. Bill

Sorry for the delay guys I haven't been on in a bit but yeah making it a cny chapter. As in oswego rochester syravuse and other surrounding area wouldn't bother me a bit. I think thatll make it better(For fanatics to meet!)

Best thing to do is make a date for the meeting and then push the addvertizment and see what you get. If you only get a few the 1st time its all gravy. So Cal, NT and VA all started small and now there are double digit numbers showing up to the meets.

This takes time , patience and presistance. Trust me I created USA Fishbox. At one point we had only 5 users posting a few things eash week...now nearly 3,000 users and over 10,000 post each month.

Thats true. But I will probably do that either way I cant wait to get this up and running.

More power to ya. Use all your tools. CL, this forum, and whatever else you can think of. Might be a forum near your area already. Not sure if they have meets but if not what not invite some people? I think its called Nycichlids or something like that.

There is a East Coast Cichlid society... Your local fish shops might promote for you...there are free ads available for non-profits in the community papers...Rope in some of those that have expressed an interest and get feed-back and volunteers to "get er up and runnin"...I'd think step one would be to establish a chapter thread here with your CNY theme. Call out on here if you need any help... but warning...... you might be overwhelmed with assistance!...

I would love to join as I am close by, but just killed my van towing my boat and still havent gotten another vehicle, so it may be a bit before I can actually make a meeting. If this is a problem, I can wait till I can come your way to join. I can still help promote on CL and thing like that to try to build a bigger and better group of fish fans like us.
