    First topic message reminder :

I think my red jewels are starting to pair up. There is an awful lot of fighting in the tank. I had to move all of the smaller ones into a 20g long for the moment. I figured they were smaller and not ready to pair up yet so they got moved so they didn't get killed.
I just watches a hell of a fight between the biggest ones a M and F (I think) Lip locking, chasing the whole 9 yards! I haven't seen any eggs as of yet. But I know they are close due to the rising aggression level. I think as they pair I will move them into their own 10g or 20g long split in half for 2 pairs.

I had read some where that the way to tell them apart is that the males have the jewels (blue sparkly things) on their tails and the females don't or if they do its just a few on the top.

Wish me luck and any advice would be appreciated!

    Well I think they are H. guttatas(sp?)
I just Got to watch the pair I have in their own 20g long spawn. It was quite neat to see. The female would make a few circles and place eggs then she would nudge the male and he would slowly swim just over the newly placed eggs and release sperm. It was cool!

I could possibly ship to your neck of the woods in a few weeks or so. How many jewels would you like? I have adults and large fry.
