I saw an aquarium in CL and the guy said he had a pair of fire eels in it, I am more interested in the eels than the tank, but idk if they would go in my 55 gallon tank, any information about these would be very helpful. thanks

Fire eels you need a completely covered tank as they are escape artist. Also they burrow and dig up plants.

From everything I am reading I would say no. Looks like they dont do well with their own kind and a minimum of 50g is suggested for one fire eel. If you are planning on getting them they need a sandy or soft substrate as they like to dig. Also a tight lid because they try to escape a lot. That is the info I have found from using google. Not a ton of info on them but maybe somebody on here can guide you in the right direction.

Fire eels get BIG, peacocks or tiretracks (not zig zag as they get BIGGEST) would do great in a 55. Provided the right decor ha
