| That 2nd pic looks like ammonia burns or gill flukes.
A full blown water reading would be very helpful....... |

| It has to be the water. Even frozen brine need to to rinsed throughly of salt. Have your tap water checked also. What is the PH? what PH did they come from? I would not treat with anything until you know what is wrong. Put in some floating plants for a shaded area or reduce or turn off your light. Lighting is more for plants and can stress a fish if too bright. |

| If they were my fish. I would put a half of cup of salt per 10 gal. for the fungus. I also would use 1 drop per gal. of formadehye sp. for the tail rot. Neither of the will hurt your fish. They will help. Good luck. | |

| I bet the PH is a few degrees off from where it needs to be and the tank some how went into a cycle. |

| PH - 7.4 - I think this is why...
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0 ppm
Nitrate - around 10 ppm | |

| add some driftwood or something(dried oak leave, Catappa leaves) with tannins to lower your PH level. Do not use chemicals as the PH will fluctuate which is even worse. Get your nitrates down to below 5 for young angels. May have to do daily changes to get it down. |

| See that's what I thought I should do, but in the store they said I do too much water changes that I over did it....
I only do a 20 to 25 % every other day last month and now I do every 3 days... the I mean... I don't know what els I can do with these guys...
I'll try with drift wood but IDK what's causing this slime coat loss....

| between your ph and nitrates both are high for young angels. Never listen to LFS employees they are there to sell so the rent will be paid. |

| if you have to use chemicals use melafix. its easy on their system but first try adding salt. 1 tbs per five gal. what is your tank temp? my angels love it at 80 to 82. DO NOT use table salt. only aquarium salt. good luck hope it helps. and fish vixen is right you do need to get the ph way down | |

| I hate to ask this question, but I do not see the answer in the thread....when you do water changes are you using prime or other declorinator...or are you using well water?
Are there any other fish in the same water (not neccesarily the same tank)???Do they exhibit signs like the angels do??

| I agree 100% with wood. A good additive if you want to use it is black water extract by tetra.... Pretty much just concentrated tannins in a bottle, Really good safe stuff.
I would also like to know what dechlorinator you are using. |

| Your Nitrate and PH levels are not too high . At least not enough to cause this problem. It appears , from your pictures , that you have some type of bacterial infection going on. | |

| These are young dime size Angelfish that are overproducing slime. An external bacterial infection is localized with reddened areas. These Angels are still fry and do not do well with water parameter changes at all. They were already stressed by being moved when bought. Angels under a quarter size are prone to stress factors I have raised enough angels to know. |

| She's right, I think I might have to go back to a water change every other day because from the looks of it they look a bit better every time I do a water change... but then again it's still risky... | |
