| What is the smallest tank that can be used to breed Angle fish in? Also once they have eggs and fry do they need a gentle flow or a little heavier flow? I'm thinking of getting into breeding the Koi Angles. I love them. | |

| Jack Watley famed discus breeder says that as soon as his angels or discus pair up he puts them in a 20 alone. I have my breeders in a 20 gallon no problemsthey breed pretty much every time I try to do water changes lol. I have seen 15 tall tanks, but they cost way more than a 20 gallon. I run sponge filters and hob aquaclear 50s on both the tanks | |

| Have my pairs in 20H, 25 or 29 though have went to a breeders home and some were in 10's which I don't agree with. 20's work great though.
Do have 1 18g tank that if I could find more of them that is what I would use, plenty deep enough and could fit more uniformly on my tank rack.
Filtration everyone has sponge filters (mostly homemade square style), for laying the eggs have pieces of pvc pipe in 12" legnths 1 1/2" diameter or tall slate peice makes it easier pull from the tank if you decide to hatch them. Personally let the parents do the work until they are 1-2 days old just depends on the pair, air flow is left the same all the time. Have one pair that insists they have to spawn on the pvc going into the sponge hoping they change their mind someday, another pair that insists on using the side of the tank everyone else is good about using items offered.

| If you want to pay less and get young ones get 6 and put them in a 55g or so and grow them out and let them pair up on their own. |

| Then you will want to spend the money on a proven mated pair. |

| Yes I am and yes I can but most of them you have to spend a certain amount ( usually in the hundreds) for every order and then add the shipping to it. It gets very expensive for the little bit of business that I get. I just don't bother to do it. I can get what I want from people on forums cheaper. I'm not going to spend $200.00 on fish that I don't want just to get one fish that I want. | |

| Now you know Koi need special food to keep the red/orange color strong color.Be careful who you buy from as quite a few are color enhanced and lose their color within 6 weeks. Check angelfishUSA for nice koi |
