| First topic message reminder :I've had such good luck with Marima Moss balls and regular Java Moss flats/ferns in my unheated 10G at home - I've decided to turn it into a planted tank with mostly different types of aquatic moss instead of plants. The fish are glofish, O.algae eaters and dwarf shrimp. So they stand out well against a green backdrop. Ideas for types of moss? Here are some of the aquascapes that have really inspired me to use mosses: [img] [/img] [img] [/img] [img] [/img]

| Riccian Fluitans...is usually a floating moss but it will adhere to wood looks great along with the christmas treee Java moss. I have also seen where people take the moss balls apart and attach them to wood and rock with a dramatic effect. Also try to attach moss to plastic craft sheets allows you to move and attach it for designed shapes..
Best of luck and lets see the pics when you have it set-up cannot wait | |

| That's exactly what I did with the marimino moss balls. I envision mounds of different colors/textures of moss going up both back corners in that tank. | |

| You could find some aquatic mosses from your local. Just don't put them in a tank with fish for a while - since you might be bringing along some parasites as well. Most won't do well - but if you find one that does - you might have discovered the next aquarium favorite! | |
