Betta Life Span

First topic message reminder :

I was just wondering how old your oldest betta is? I have heard that three years is about the life span of a betta, but have known people to have them longer than that. Also, what are some signs/symptoms that your betta is "getting old"? I love my bettas and just can't picture my house without one or two of them...or more! LOL! They are kind of like potato chips, as you just can't seemed to have just ONE of them!

Look on my '240g tank and sump the redneck way' thread, do your substrate like that, .5-1" of boiled dirt and 1-2" of sand. It makes for happy easy to care for plants.

Well, my poor guy died last night. I sure will miss him, as he had such a great personality and was such a pretty boy.

Thanks everyone. I did get two new male bettas a few days after he died. I figured that I had the space and I really love my bettas. I will post pics, soon!
