mad Purchased this item: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=160417170190&Category=117434&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26its%3DI%26otn%3D1

Just received it today. As I was looking at the specs on the box I noticed that a sticker had been placed over the manufacturer specs and '13W' was handwritten in. Pulled the unit out, looked at the manufacturer label ON the unit. It is indeed a 9W - not a 13W. Checked the manufacturer website. Nothing bigger than a 9W is built for this model.

I paid $9 more for this UV sterilizer over an advertised 9W solely based on it being 5W more. Do NOT - I repeat - DO NOT - buy from this guy. He won't give refunds - just credit. That's IF I can get him to email me back.

Live and learn - first time I've gotten screwed by a seller on eBay. mad crazy mad

I'm waiting to see how he responds to my demands of a $9 refund on the conterfeit item. Give hime until Friday. Then I'll throw four buyer reviews up (I purchased a 9W, two 5W and this ahem 13W) I've also looked into instigating an investigation by eBay......

All goes into motion on Friday night. But he is obviously used to scamming this 9W as a more expensive 13W. So that'll be put up there - along with how he responds.

Sorry for the rip off. Just to give all a heads up. I have been selling and buying on Ebay for years now. The most important thing to do is check the sellers feedback before purchasing from them. I went and check this guys feedback and it is terrible. this is his feedback score

Recent Feedback Ratings(last 12 months)
This table shows the number of positive, neutral, and negative overall Feedback ratings the member has received in the last 12 months.

1 month 6 months 12 months

Positive 288 2447 4128
Neutral 1 11 19
Negative 1 11 15

With feedback like this know one should ever buy from him. PEOPLE, from now on check the sellers feedback.

If you don't do the research before buying then it's almost as much your fault as it is the bad seller. This is how they are able to keep selling is people buy from them without checking feedback and that's what they count on.

Gets even better. Guy emailed back and CLAIMS the manufacturer just started making 13W. Granted, it's against international law for them to tag the item as a different wattage - and also THEY claim they still don't offer 13W units.

Also, not a single one of the 4 units will pump water through. So they are all defective. Perhaps it is that the manufacturer printed '220-240V/50Hz' and the guy put a sticker over it that said '110V/60Hz' - so it may be that standard plugs cannot run these units. Another intentional mislabel.

You need to go to your PayPal and then go to the Resolution Center and file a claim against him stating that the item is not as described in the listing. If you do this then PayPal will pay you and they will make him pay them back. Also go to your feedback and leave him a negative feedback. This will help others buying from him.

Well Ebay is ok if you learn to watch things good. I just had two people in that past week bid on my fish. Both of them had 0 feedback which means they had never baughten on Ebay before. Will neither one of them paid me. I had to file a claim against both of them. I now put this in my listings

Any bids with a "0" feedback will be canceled! Sorry but have had loads of problems with this.

The seller has the option to cancel bids. Also they go on my Block Bidders list so they can never bid on my items again. I think a lot of kids are getting on there a screwing around. To bad not much you can do about that kind of thing.

I had a guy rip me off once. He would not budge.. said he does not give refunds, so I took some pics and put the URL in his feedback. Worked like a charm. Really ticked him off and screwed up the rest of his auctions as others could see his tricks. Ended up closing the account, probably to start over.

Thanks for the idea. I'm having a problem right now on eBay, and that little trick will help (if not me, then definitely others).
