| Emperor 400's are great. Pricey but worth it. |

| Fern, i especially like emperor filter, 280 and 400... do your use the carbon filter paks, and if you do how often you replace them? and do you put other media::: carbon, etc in the other plastic container?? or do you just use floss/filter material in it??? any info would be helpful?? | |

| i used mine for salt and instead of the filter bag things i use live rock rubble, i used the filter bags to clear up my water when it got gloudy after disturbing the sand bed |

| Agreed - Emperor 400 are great as far as "affordable" HOB filters go. I just use floss int he extra cargo space - though I imagine they could be good for A LOT of things, including peat if you are doing discus!
I would still have to go with Marineland for canisters. Fluval is nearly a tie, if not a VERY close second, but I just like Marineland products so much. | |

| i prefer marineland cannisters over fluval for teh simple fact of spare parts, most shops here dont carry fluval replacement parts btu they all have marineland replacements. |
