| I just got 2 Synodontis ocellifer, well that's what we think they are. They are missing pretty much all of their fins but still have a bunch of spunk. They were headed to the freezer in the fish store I help out at, so I asked if I could have them and try to get them well. I now have them in a little 5g tank and treating them with melafix before they go into a real tank. I will get some pics up shortly! |

| Well they seem happy so far, they are eating that's always a good sign, they are also swimming about some, its the awkward no fin swim but they are managing well. |

| Well the owner of the lfs thinks with time and care they will be good as new, he was quite glad that I was willing to give it a try with them. |

| All of their nubs looks much less irritated today, so the treatment seems to be working |

| They should grow back with no issues. I rescued a little syno that looked like a floating little turd, always bobbing around, then would try his darndest to swim. After about 2 months I saw a big difference, and now he has all fins and whiskers, like his older buddy. :) Now he just plays dead during water changes. | |

| Except for the obvious issue they look and act perfectly healthy, the wiggle around the tank often and they eat fine, I expect them to make a full recovery, I think there is some growth already! |

| Yes, thats the way it is at fish stores, The owner was happy to give them to me along with the meds to treat them with. He has also been asking how they are recovering.... so its not a being mean thing its a time and effort vs cost thing..... |

| i don't think he was being wrong for freezing them, just asking because i need to get rid of a sick fish in a nice way. he is to far gone and im tired of spending money on meds that aren't effective. | |

| put him in a zip-lock in the freezer, its the nicest way to do it. Its quick and they pretty much just go to sleep........ |
