| The male blows bubbles that he deposits the eggs in when they are spawning. As the eggs fall out of the female he picks them up and blows them into the nest. When the spawning is done the female has to be removed from the tank because she will eat the eggs. The father stays in and cares for the eggs constantly blowing them back in the nest if they fall out. When they hatch they hang in the nest as you see in the picture. He will pick them up if they fall out and blow them back into the nest. After about two to three days they will become free swimming and that is when the father has to be taken out because even after all that work he's done he will start eating them.......... Here is a picture of part of the nest. Actually when first made it is much bigger. In the picture that brown clump over on the right is all babies too. KMX these are HalfMoon Betta's. | |

| Yes Cajun they are very interesting. When courting is going on they will tare each others fins apart and it can get very violent. But then when they do get to the deed it's like a beautiful ballat. The male wraps his body around the female to fertilize the eggs. | |
