Betta Fry

I have a new batch of Salamander fry. They are 12 days old. Can't wait til they color up some. so much fun watching them grow.

They're getting bigger now and starting to color up a little. Will try to get a new picture tomorrow.

Here are these babies they are now 3 1/2 weeks old.

they look soo kool and really nice looking. cant wait to get mine now!!!! ill get a pic to yawl of my tank and maybe get some pointers on how to design it better.

whisper, how do you know when to separate them?

Usually as early as two to three months old the males will start getting aggressive. When I see one going after another then I take it out and it gets jared by itself.Here are pictures.

This first picture are ones that have been jarred. The females also get jarred at about 3 months old. These jars get 100%wc twice a week.


This second one is of females in the grow out tank that haven't been jarred yet. When they get jarred then the one month olds will go in it.

i dont know how many i told ya that i want but ill def get 3 females n a male. if i get a tank between today to the meeting, ill hav a bigger tank for him, is the male fine wit mollies an swordtails?

Yes pill one male is good in a community tank just no other males or females. What are you going to do with the females?........Also I have 2.5gal. tanks at the store if you want to pick one up at the meeting. Betta's don't need to have a cycled tank just dechlorinated water/RO/or Natural spring water. So you can tank it home,fill it with water, and put them in it. Very easy. Bettas are one of the easiest fish to care for.

How much would the 2.5gal tank and a male Betta cost.

BFinley. The males are $10.00 each. I think the 2.5 tank is $19.50. You'll want a small filter also for the tank unless you want to do frequent wc's. That's up to you. But I will give a 10% dicount on supplies to USAfishbox members. Not on the fish. The supplies.
