so my convicts just had babies and there swimming close to the parents but last time they all just dissapered so should i seperate them from the parents or what should i do so i dont lose them again

separate them they didnt disapear mom and dad ate them sorry yeah set up a 10 gallon and take the same water from their tank and use a sponge filter they are like 10 bucks but keep in mine that they are like rabbits and wil have fry again and again good luck any pics convicts 265353

if u want to keep them you can. but if u dont care just leave them. you could also get some breeding grass. they hide in it and the bigger fish cant get in it to eat them. they sell it at petsmart.

im gonna try to scurry all the babies to one section on a 55 and put a divider until they get bigger

if you do decide you want to keep them you can remove them easily with a gravel vac. do not let then hose end before in the water of the bucket tho.

yes. they are tiny and any fish will eat them if they catch them.

i wasnt sure if it was normal because there protecting them from other fish then i got some and they started eating there own babies i just didnt think it was normal

my sister's convicts are the lone survivors in her 55 - they have killed everything else once they started breeding. they may well have eaten some of their fry but there are plenty left. my suggestion is to have a convict only tank before they do it for you and the fitist will survive.
