| My Red Jewels spawned today! I can't get a good picture of the eggs because their in a cave with not so great lighting, but I'm super excited! I'll get pics of the parents for later. WOOOHOOO! One pair down, one to go! | |

| They are occupying half of the tank. The other half is a cluster of Jewels fighting over space. I may have to move some for a while into my 55. Hopefully that won't cause major issues. | |

| If you have a spare 20g long move the parents and eggs into it. |

| Two problems.
1) I don't have a 20 Long yet.
2) The eggs were laid directly on sand, not on the rocks I provided.
They made this one hard on me. I'm going to have to hope that they are safe inside the cave once they hatch for a while until I can net them and move them to the 10 gallon. | |

| Even if they did lay them on they rock they will move them around until they are free swimmers. Once they are free swimmers...5-6 days ...Should be able to put the fry in somthing else. They are fine w/o mom and dad. Infact if you seperate them from the fry they will spawn again faster. | |

| Yeah. It would have been nice to pick a rock up and move the eggs and mom and dad to another tank. But I'll just do what you said and wait until they are free swimming and then I'll scoop 'em up and move them. | |

| I would leave them in there till you see a decrease in number of fry. They seem to grow much faster with the parents. You will either need to siphon the fry out or use a brine shrimp net to move them. The 10g you have will work nicely. Feed them finely crushed flake. |

| Wigglers! Looks to be about 100-150 from what I can see. I'm so happy! Siphoning the fry won't hurt them? I don't plan on moving them for another week or so yet right? | |

| I can only tell these two apart by the males darker color and how skinny his body is compared to the female. I honestly thought that this female was a male when I brought her home. Only after they bred did I know what they were. I just bought 7 juvies and let one pair breed before I removed the others! | |

| The males have more jewels and the females have less. |

| Sometimes! lol She is only missing two lines that I can see on the male. It's really hard to tell when they are younger! lol Take a look at the side by side. It's not easy. The half of the tail jewel rule is not always true either. | |
