| I'm getting mixed reviews online, so wondered what you all thought about mixing peacocks/haps/mbuna. In my 55g (for now!), my hopes are to keep the following list of fish as tankmates for my strawberry peacocks, ob peacock, and a Phenochilus Tanzania. I might mention we're wanting an all male tank, btw.
Here's my list of possible tankmates:
-Electric blue/Iceberg blue haps -Yellow lab -Snow White socolofi -Eureka Red peacocks -Blue Otters
The list above is fry that I'm growing out right now & wondered if they'd eventually be ok with my current fish as roomies, or if I'd be better off staying with mostly peacocks & selling the fry? Just wanting to make sure my peacocks don't get too stressed out from mbuna hyperactivity and/or hap bullying. They all seem to be getting along ok so far in their grow out tank, but that could change once they reach adulthood, I suppose. Thoughts, ideas, & opinions are appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

| the really problem comes when you are breeding. the haps and peacocks should not be bred in the same tank. other wise you should be fine. | |

| Thanks so much for the responses. Sorry it's taken so long to check back on my thread. Snowie, my feline friend of 18 years became very sick recently. Saturday she began her journey across the rainbow bridge. I was with her when she left this world, but I know her sister, Tabitha was there to meet her on the other side. She'll be dearly missed for now, but I know we'll see each other again one day.
Now that I've got everyone all depressed, regarding my tank:
We recently picked up a 75g combo set at Petsmart. It included the tank, 48" strip light & glass lids. Our stand we have the 55g on also holds a 75g as well, so we're good to go staight out of the box since we have everything else we need. We thought with more room, it should hopefully help curb any aggression. We're in the process of rehoming any remaining adult females we have in the 55g right now. When I got the fry, they were already mixed up together & it's impossible to tell what's what when they're so small. We really just want an all male tank for their colors, plus we just don't want to have to deal with raising fry all the time. As they grow out, as soon as we can pick out some for sure males, we'll keep those & rehome what's left.
Thanks again for your input on your own experiences with mixing these guys. Just wanna make sure my strawberries are comfortable with who I put in there with them.

Yes...I've had my fill of babies for quite a while. Don't plan on breeding any time soon.
