so i traded some of my plants today for 3 balloon mollies. well i got them home and they look weird. they have really thick stuff almost like scales all over their heads and it is almost grey or blue colored. one even has a fin that looks the same. i have looked on google but can't seem to find what it might be. any ideas?

Try adding salt to your aquarium. I would add at least a cup per 10 gallon or up to 2 cups. Mollies love salt.

i did when i brought them home. i have them in a separate tank just in case it is a disease so that it wont spread to my other fish.

Mollies can go all the way to salt. Your pictures don't help much.

well i am beginning to think that it was caused by stress of being transported because they are fine now but still staying in quarantine for a week to be safe. im not going to convert them to salt as i have a freshwater tank.
