| hillstream loaches, any other loach, zebra/leopard danios, rasboras, minnows, gouramis, bettas. these are small fish indigenous to Asia | |

Posts : 1154 Location : Beaverton , MI Favorite Fish: : My Favorites are the Pleco's and Cory Cats . BUT , I have 44 running Tanks at this time . I keep 3 kinds of Shellies , several types of Pleco's ( mostly Ancistrus ), Cichlids , Crays , Angels , LB's , and some local species .

| Lots of filtration and water movement is key. Good luck, and definitely post pics of your progress! | |

| A 5 gallon "river" tank won't be much of a river. Go with a stillwater stream instead. Cherry barbs will get kind of big and fat for a 5 gallon. Why not replace them with a tiny rasbora species - one of the "micro" rasboras would be good. There are many tiny Asian fish which come from these stillwater streams and swamps where the water movement is practically nil and the temperatures are high. | |

| what would i do with the barbs, since i'm in middle school i made a pack with my parents, that i wouldn't just get rid of fish at the whimsy, i have a lot of fi'ters, 1 of each type and a bubbler, so i have a lot of water movement, would some micro rasboras, the dwarf spot kind, be ok in there | |
