| My son bought a convict chiclid, and had him for several months, He is about 6 inches long, anyhow, he went from being almost completely BLACK to a completely almost white, pale pinkish color, Any idea as to why? He acts exactly the same, and does everything exactly the same. | |

| That is strange, has your son done anything different? (i.e. clean the tank differently or placed something new in there?) | |

| Nothing new was done, same food, same stuff in the tank, he was growing alot, when we got him he was only 1.5 inches long, he is huge now, nothing changed before he changed color, now after he changed color we moved him to a bigger tank, and bought some "color" food, hoping he might go back to his normal color!! Don't have before pics of him! | |

| Ok, we will move the temp up, we feed a fairly large can of color food, and it didn't seem to help! I will get some pics on here! | |

I agree it could have been a mixed breed. I have had several convicts, some did change color after they fully matured. | |

what was the brand of food you are feeding? i was feeding my saltwater fish omega one but now i am feeding them ocean nutrition from petco and they have had a minor change in teh brightness of color but other than that i cannot see anyhthing in feeding that would cause a color change. might check water parameters to see if some kind of aerosol got into the water |
