| finally got me breeding colony of Neochromis greenwoodi 2 days ago, woke up this morning fed em was watching them and the one we was unsure of the sex is holding eggs! then I see the dom male swim over "show" and milt when the female goes to pick his egg spots! I was amazed to see this, just wanted to let everyone know.
*not sure if this is the right place to put this so feel free to move it*
I do have a question.. how long is the gestation period once the eggs are fertilized? I have a maternity tank set up but currently have ob zebra fry in the tank an cant set up another tank till later tonight.

| Congratz!
Let her hold 2-3 weeks. Watch for the male , might harrase them holding females. Just make sure she has spots to hide if needed.

| thank you guys, most of these still have the yoke sac so i know they wasnt ready to be spit by the mother, but my wife spotted babies in the tank so we caught all the fish and looked in everyone's mouth(including males). and also pulled one male out and put him in our mixed cichlid tank. | |
