| I've been seeing to much salt water tanks lately so that make me want to do a salt water tank now.Since I've moved I cannot setup all my tanks again. So I am gonna use one of my 29g tanks and make it a SW tank.I would go bigger with one of my 55g's or my 60g,but I have no room for them. The only space I got will fit my 29g or my 30g hex tank. Now knowing what size tanks I have to work with what do you think will be the best tank?Would the 29g work better or the 30g hex tank? The 30g hex tank has a light, but its not good enough for corals. The 29g I have 2 coralife compact florescent light fixtures that I could use.So if I go with the 30g hex it would be a FOWLR tank and if I go with the 29g I want a mini reef in it.I was told that this gets more addicting than FW tanks. Is that true?I still love my FW fish though.Any help or advice would be really appriciated! Thanks! | |

| ok I'm laughing my a$$ off here:) yes it's very addicting unlike FW things are always changing. IMHO use the 29G the Hex will be too small of a foot print you won't like the limits it will cause later on. your coral life fixture will be fine for softies and there's plenty to choose from that won't break the bank. have fun an welcome to the other side. | |

| WOOOO HOOOOOO! Another salty! YAY! Having had freshwater tanks all my life, I find my SW tank to be the most interesting so far! SW fish are just so much....different....than FW. Everything about them is fascinating! CONGRATS! | |

| Thanks peeps! After looking at both tanks I've decided to use the 29g for my SW tank. Now the plan is to find where I can or my wife will let me put the tank.I will use the 30g hex for the C.A.S.T. program.Ok once I find a place for the tank I will start my SW tank build. You all were right about the footprint on the tanks. The 29g will be alot better to use I think.Plus I got the lights already for the 29g.I was thinking of getting a backpack skimmer.Do those work good? | |

| I've had the RSM 130d and the Bio cube the Bio cube was ok, RSM is much better it really depends on what you plan to keep one of the main reasons I didn't care much for the cube was I had to bend over to see in plus I couldn't have a sump/fuge. what happened to the 29G and 15G sump? as for skimmers go I won't run a tank without one it gives me peace of mind if I miss a couple w/c's it frees me from worrying about the crud building in a filter type setup and if you get a good one it can suck a tick off a dogs butt from 6 feet away:) JMHO. | |

| Ok thanks! The wife won't let me put a sump under there. She thinks it will be to much for the 29g.I keep telling her it won't,but she won't listen. She has seen the nano cubes and told be to get one of those instead.Thats why I asked about those! | |
