| Been a bit since I posted pictures so I will have to bring everyone up to date. A few weeks ago I picked up two angels from a local hobbyist. They had two nice tanks setup and had to move to a place where they could only fit one tank. As such they sold off all their stock in one tank. They had two angels in there that they called "a breeding pair" I took them home and put them in a custom acrylic tank we got in a deal off CL. Sure enough they looked like a pair. For those that have never seen an angel pair it is a sight to be seen. They stick to each other like glue. Swim together, fight, chase, rub, and seemingly nod at their advances. This pair had all the signs of a healthy pair. I put them in the tank and within two days I had eggs! The only problem! I had two sets of eggs!! Some eggs are a slightly different color and I had the standard off white eggs and I had some orange eggs. Laid very close together but in two separate patches. So as it turned out I had TWO females. I guess they just had stuck together and been laying eggs all this time with nothing happening. I must say I was a bit surprised but with angels determining sex without seeing the sex organs is difficult to say the least. Well after I found this out I was actually happy. Since I now had two egg laying females! In my community tank I have a large angel that I was 98% sure was male having seen him drop is reproductive organ a few times. I took my male from the community and placed him with my two gravid females. It took about 4 days for him to pick the female he liked. After that is was just another love story. The female he picked laid eggs a few days later and the fertilization took place. I now have at least 100+ wigglers sitting on my sponge filter. The second female has been moved to another community tank with a VERY large angel. I am not certain on the sex of the larger angel but I really hope it is male.***EDIT*** Got my wigglers from the pair the giant angel is in fact male!))) I am sure they would produce some massive fry haha. She laid eggs today and it appeared the other was fertilizing but I won't know for a few days. Here are some pictures from all the action that has taken place over the last few weeks. Enjoy!! Male with eggs on filter behind him Male and female behind him Another shot of the male ****** My next hopeful breeding pair! Female up front. She is a swear half the size of the supposed male haha.

| Here is a few pictures of the free swimmers. I removed them from the parents today. They seem very healthy and are eating BBS. Parents Free swimming fry! | |

| I like your idea for holding the PVC pipe. Where did you get a suction holder big enough to fit a PVC pipe? ...........Also, do you recommend removing the parents when the fry become free swimmers? | |

| I just used a standard heater holder. It "just" fits, but it hold very tightly and I have never had one slip.
I remove the fry once free swimming. IMO the easiest way to feed the new fry is in a small container. Something that is very easy to do frequent water changes on and something that the fry can easily find food in. I start out with a half gallon container then once they are moving around pretty good (1 week or so) They go to a 1 gallon tank. After that when they start to develop their bodies a bit more they go into a 10 gallon tank and spend a decent amount of time in there. From my experience the correct size tank is important to ensure everyone gets food and that water changes remain manageable (IE: harder to do a 75% water change on a 20/30gal compared to a 10)

| so you don't take the parents out you take the fry out is that right? And do you spawn them in a 10g?...The reason I'm asking is I have a 20g high but I can't get the leak fixed(after four tries) so I finally gave up on that one and today I set up a 10g and put the pair in that for spawning in two more weeks. figured by that time they will be adjusted to it. Will they spawn in a 10g? Everything I read on the internet they say"Oh you need a 20g to spawn Angels". What do you think? | |

| That's correct I leave the parents in their tank and take the fry out.
The only thing I don't like about the 10 gallon is that angels like to lay eggs on vertical things. So a 10 gallon would not give them much height to lay 3 or so inch strips of eggs on anything. Not saying they would still do it in there but it might be hard for them to do.
