| That sucks, that you can't have piranhas. I live in MO, and they are a dime a dozen here. You can find them at any LFS. You don't want to be that guy though that goes to jail for owning an illegal fish. I actually just read an article last week about some dips*it up on the east coast that got caught importing 400 snakeheads, and now faces 10 years in prison, for a federal offense. If your looking for something legal that is just like a piranha, then go with Pacus. Pacus are in the same family, can be just as aggressive, and not near as shy as a piranha is, so you actually get to enjoy them. And they look exactly alike.

| Strange how they are banned in some states and not others. They sell in the pet stores here in PA. | |

| I'm guessing because of climate, most of the states are up north. It would be hard for them to really thrive up where is colder. | |

| We had a guy release a Pacu in a public park lake here in Richmond about 15 years ago. Someone caught it fishing and they shut the park down for a week till they figured out what it was.
I bet it was like you see in the movies. Mothers were picking up their children screeming and everyone was running for the enterance, 100 cop cars pull in and shut doun the park. lol | |
