Wow got some pretty big ones in there. Ever have any trouble with aggression? Also pretty surprised they let those plants be haha. Mine are constantly digging thing up if they could move the rocks they would I swear lol. Great looking tank BTW!

thanks, yeah the acei are about 2 years old now. I have a problem with the auratus since they are 1:1 male to female ratio. you dont even see the female in the video. I also have the pale morph zebra cichlid acting very territorial in the left hand corner of the tank. Otherwise nothing out of the ordinary.
I have had a problem with them digging up my more fragile plants so now the java fern and the amazon swords are the only ones that can withstand them... they also tend to nibble on them more if i don't feed them enough.
I think thats the most plants I have ever seen in a african cichlid tank but u did a good job!!

Posts : 1154 Location : Beaverton , MI Favorite Fish: : My Favorites are the Pleco's and Cory Cats . BUT , I have 44 running Tanks at this time . I keep 3 kinds of Shellies , several types of Pleco's ( mostly Ancistrus ), Cichlids , Crays , Angels , LB's , and some local species .
I also used to have them potted, which helps them establish long roots before I transfered them into the substrate. I try to help them grow fast, I have a T5HO twin bulb setup and i dose the tank every day with liquid CO2. its an active fight to help the plants but its not that hard and certainly worth the extra effort.
