PVAS auction Apr 2 Fairfax, VA

Hey all, Who's up for a USAFB VA Chapter road trip? It was brought to my attention at the board meeting yesterday that there is a BIG auction Apr 2 in Fairfax, VA. It is an all day auction that starts at 10:00am hosted by Potomac Valley Aquarium Society. It is fine with my method as long as you know when to stop if you dont want the item lol. I bid on probably 3/4 of the lots at the auction we had and only took home 4 lots.

Who wants to stay all day, who wants to stay half? If we have both then we might have to take 2 cars, OR slip em a mickey and kid-nap em!!! I'm game for the all day thing, or most of it.

Kin... you're going to have to email us individually your addy if your to be the rally point or pick out a location that's close to you.. a shopping lot, movie theater etc. I'm up for 7:30 - 8:00. My car can be taken, it will seat 5 comfortably. Merc. Mtnr. Plus a couple of coolers. We might be up to five if Ryan the new guy gets onboard. He'll know one way or the other by wed if i recall .. I'm up for a full day trek as long as someone doesn't mind taking the wheel for the trip back. Once again, I'm hoping to bail out on the auction for an hour or so to go look over the fish rescue site which is about 15 minute drive away from the auction. Just to get a feel of what will be required on "Rescue Day".. so folks line up the new homes for the fishies!.. Donations for the expenses and chapter will be gladly accepted. Bill

Hello PVAS members and friends! Well spring is here and for all you fish-lovers, that means one thing: The BIG SPRING AUCTION OF THE POTOMAC VALLEY AQUARIUM SOCIETY! The auction is this Saturday, April 2nd at our regular meeting place: Green Acres School, 4401 Sideburn Road, Fairfax, Virginia. Doors open at 9 AM and the auction starts promptly at 10 AM! You know how I love to throw great, fun stuff out to the crowd, so be on hand for lots of freebies at the beginning of the auction. We are expecting about 1000 items this year --fish, aquatic plants, pond items, tanks, filters, hardware, you name it! If you're starting a tank, or selling off a tank, this is the place to be! VOLUNTEERS: We need volunteers for the following: Corral workers: two hour shifts beginning at 8:30 AM Computer data entry: three hour shifts Cash desk/check out: three hour shifts Filing clerk at check out desk: three hour shifts Credit Card Desk: three hour shifts Buyer/Seller check in beginning at 9:00 AM If you can volunteer for any of these positions, please let me know by replying to this email ASAP. Your help is greatly needed to make the day a success, and greatly appreciated. SELLERS AND BUYERS : Please note: PVAS has adopted a new auctioning program and all buyers and sellers are required to create an account. REGISTERING AND CREATING AN ACCOUNT BEFORE THE AUCTION WILL SHORTEN YOUR WAIT TO GET INTO THE AUCTION! It's easy: 1. Go to: www.mygroupauctions.com and select "sign up as a user". 2. You will be asked to provide information about yourself to create your account. 3. If you want to buy and sell in the auction, click the "yes" boxes to be a buyer and seller. When I go to their registration web site mygroupauctions.. I see my name and a few others.. does that mean we're already pre-registered as buyers? It is also asking for a p/w... ????????? Where do we stand Kin? Bill

Isn't 7:30 ..ummm.. like, just after sunsrise?.. I thought only sparrows and some other annoying birds were up at that time of day... and is it really a "time of day?".. maybe the waning moments of nighttime!... So.. now that it looks like two vehicles.. we can probably accept 1, maybe two more that choose to join us on the venture...
