Unusually colored pleco

He's a chocolate w/stripes, extremely shy as compared to the rubber-lipped plecos I'm growing bigger in this tank. In fact, the only reason I saw him today is that I've just shifted all the plants around in it! I apologize for the slight tank haze from the replanting - but I knew if I didn't get pics now - it'll be another month before I see him again.

So is he just an unusually colored varient of a standard pleco - or something else? I bought him and some others when PetSmart had them on sale - and they were all so unusual and light colored.
