| Hello everyone, from San Diego California here.
I am just getting back into the flow of running tanks again and will be sharing as much as I can. Thanks everyone for all the great info!

| Too many in mind! I have a 30g tall that has been cycling for about 3 weeks now, used healthy gravel from a 20g(see below) tank as well as a bag of that "bacteria laden sand" they sell at the LFS, six airstone 8" bars(not going to stay in there like that) and a penguin(not sure which) biowheel filter. I was originally going to setup a dwarf cichlid tank, then decided on paludarium, then filled the tank with water and started cycling without any hardscaping(doh!) so now I am not sure what I am going to do with it. Also have a 20g with some rescues from other peoples tanks: a couple lonely albino corys and a couple still small clown loaches, 2 oto cats and 1 dwarf frog some rocks and live plants. Most likely move the loaches and corys to the 30g, get a couple more of each so they have some friends, tons of live plants, some rocks, cherry shrimp and some type of mid-upper level fish, possibly some type of tetra. Then I should have a 55g(or was it 50g?) coming tomorrow, so its all up in the air. The only livestock I have now are the rescues, so I have time to decide which direction I would like to head in as they will be fine split up between the 20 and 30 tanks. No matter what something is getting turned into a fire bellied toad paludarium, rear-scaped(I got the 'good stuff' foam, silicone, coir, driftwood, moss, etc.), heavily planted, guppies or mollies, red cherry shrimp. One day would like some vampire crabs as well, but have had no luck raising red claw crabs so I am waiting. I saw(online) a nice paludarium setup with fire bellys AND vampire crabs, it was a beautiful setup but I am not sure I can maintain two land dweller species in one tank just yet. | |

| Pics will come for sure. Most likely this weekend depending on if it snows or if I can head out to the tiny river and gather some more moss and such. Thanks for all the kind hellos! :D This forum does not seem to show up on any search engines though, I found via an advertisement on CL about local aquatic clubs. | |

| Some moss, ferns, etc. I gathered last weekend for my upcoming paludarium build. Millions of these little pencil looking succulent type plants all over, they grow on the sides of rocks in tiny cracks. A full cascading effect. The 20g of rescued fish. Plant thats floating is half rooted in because its going in the 30g. I need to trim the dead leaves off that plant and move it over to the 30 also. It was a smash and grab setup using whatever I had laying around as to keep the rescues instead of the guy flushing them down the dang toilet. | |

| I bought a 10g a couple days ago ($5), added 'super natural' sand and a small amount of healthy gravel from another tank, as well as water from said other tank(6 week cycled with no fish in it. 0 ppm). Let it run through the penguin bio-wheel, bubble wand going, only 1 plant so far. But I got it to give the rescued albino cory a place to go as I bought 4 more last night so he can have friends. 10g/plants/5 cory and most likely a snail. Keeping the lone adopted clown loach with the cory until I find a store that has any small ones in stock(looked locally yesterday a few places with zero luck big or small) or maybe I will try and find him a home in the classifieds? The other tank which used to also hold all the rescues now has the 2 otos and 1 dwarf, just added last night 6 ghost shrimp and a sponge pre-filter. The now empty tank will be used for either a vivarium or paludarium. | |
