| Here are some pics of all of the tanks I have up and running at the moment: 45-gal: 2 P. leopoldi (wild caught), Hyphessobrycon herbertaxelrodi (black neons). Water treated with almond leaves and wood tannins. 40-gal: 1 P. scalare (silver, domestic, baby I kept from a spawning pair I no longer have), Rasbora Heteromorpha, Hyphessobrycon amandae (ember tetras). Next week to receive 6 wild juvenile Apistogramma cacatuoides, when angel will be moved over to the 45 with the other angels. Note all of the ramshorn snails that I try to maintain in mass quantities for my puffer. Also note the angel at the far left corner of the tank where he spends almost 100% of the time - he is gazing across at the tank next to his that holds the 2 wild angels. He stares into their tank constantly, seemingly wanting to be with them. They will often come over to the far right side of their tank and look back at him. They were together previously but I split up the group, and now I think I'll put them back together. 10-gal brackish: Tetraodon biocellatus (figure-8 puffer, "Otis") 37-gal: Neolamprologus leleupi (juvenile group) awesome color! 20-high: Carassius auratus - Goldfish! "Flopsy, Mopsy and Cottontail" 150-gal: Cyphotilapia gibberosa "Kapampa," Altolamprologus compressiceps, Altolamprologus calvus, Paracyprichromis nigripinnis.Paracyps will have to go once the frontosa get larger, but that will be a while. Fish are small yet, and the tank is kept pretty dim, so pics are a challenge. | |

| Great tanks.. great photos! 2 questions.. How do you get those photo's without the flash reflection and how do I post pics to my posts? I've tried to embed images but the instructions are pretty vague! Bill in Richmond, Va. | |

| Hi Bill- I don't use a flash; I take them at night and completely darken the room except for the light over the tank itself. My pics are always going to lack detail and closeups of the fish, for the most part, because I haven't figured out how to set the camera to capture the moving targets! I had a friend come over who is a very accomplished photographer and he had no trouble getting beautiful closeups and shots of the tank with crisp detail, but I was unable to figure out how to do it myself with my camera, WAH! I need someone to walk me through it someday.
What I do to post them is to upload them to a site like photobucket, and there you can select the image properties, and paste that into your post, using the "image" code (button up there where "bold" and "italics" are, which will bracket your image properties location information. Does that make sense? There might be a thread about how to post pics in your thread on this site, though, as I'm sure it has come up! | |
