New Puffer Tank Up & Running

I got some awesome stuff from KMX... Thanks K! Built up my 46 gallon bowfront that I got off craigslist and I'm finally finished... now it's time to cycle! But hopefully that will go fast... the tank is already brackish... 1.002 salinity/sg and I'm running my biofilters right now plus my hob filter with carbon. I used plastic plants and play sand and some holey rock from KMX... no problems thus far! Already checked the water and everything looks perfect! So... what do ya'll think of the new setup?

Looks good! Sand looks good with the rocks. Couldent have done better myself.

Well, I decided to try to do 2 puffers in one tank... Here's pics of the first guy!

I'll post pics of the second when I get him.... I'm letting this one establish territories first. They will be moved to a 80 gallon marine tank soon... once I acclimate them to that type of water.

want another puffer? My lil guy is the coolest but he attacks everyone including my big oscar. Hes like a damm mosquito!!lol

I would love to, but I'm already taking in another puffer from a lady with the same problem! I guess these guys really don't mess around!

Yup.... that's what got this whole thing started! lol... I didn't know how much I would like pufferfish until I started researching them because of the ad for a free GSP on CL

You better keep an eye on them, they usually don't last to long with more than one in a tank..

btw, i got bit by my puffer the other day when i was taking some dead feeders out, so watch your hands!!lol

mines never done that, although one morning when i woke up he was in a cave curled up into a ball.lol Might of happened when the lights were off? dont know. Nobody bothers him though, they know to stay away,lol.

You don't want them to puff, if they do that means they are stressed. Too much puffing can be detrimental to their health. I saw my first one do it once, but only a little, since then I haven't seen either one do it at all- which is a good thing... But if I ever see them do it and have a camera I will definitely take a pic for you!

Well that's good then. I'm clueless when it comes to puffers I just thought it was something they normally did.
