| Hello I am a Fish -A-holic.... I started up some aquariums in November of last year. I had been a Hobbiest previously and got out of it when we moved up here 10 years ago. In the past I kept Oscars, Jacks, Clown Knifes, African Clawed Frogs, Mollies, Plats.... Currently I am keeping a 55 gallon with fancy goldfish. I had originally purchased 3 goldfish, but someone gave me 4 more for Christmas.... Please don't give fish as Christmas presents I had to upgrade my tanks before I wanted to.... I plan on moving them outside to an above ground pond for the summer and then back in for the winters. We have an Oranda, Pearl Scale, 2 Black Moores, and 2 Ryunkins and 1 Panda Moore who isn't a Panda any more (color changes). My 17 year old daughter decided she wanted an aquarium so I gave her a 30ish gallon and she has 7 dwarf african cichlids heavily planted with lots of caves... I don't know the details on these guys but I did help in cycling the tank and getting her water right. Since we had the old (goldfish home 20 gallon) aqarium we decided to make it a puffer tank. I know we will have to get a larger home for these guys when and if the get bigger- it will be my excuse to start a nice marine tank. Right now we are still acclimating them to brackish water. Plus we have a little 10 gallon tank for snails and crabs (puffer food). I have pretty good filters- all the aqariums have HOB filters (at least double to their requirements, and Power Heads with UGFs'. I will be adding Sponges/disconecting the UGF's to the 3 Fish Tanks eventually. I am a big beliver of water 30-50% changes. I do 1-2 a week depending on what I am feeding. and I train a dog in the German Dog Sport Schutzhund Julie | |
