| UV effect bacteria not hard elements such as iron. It should have no effect on plant fertilizers. |

| Now RO systems are totally a different matter as you have to add everything back into the water. |

| I agree 100% with Vixen..I believe UV actually helps out planted tanks...not only does it remove bacteria nad free floating parasites it also works great at removing algae which will steal nutrients and light from your other plants. | |
