What is this Fish?

Can anyone tell me what this fish is? I was told it was a ruby red but now that I know the other fish is a ruby red then I do not know what this one is.

I do not know what that is. The lady I bought it from said it is a ruby red from lake victoria. that it is just like the ruby green. They do have simular markings on the face with the black stripes. I know when it wants to go into the cave pot it turns real red.

When it turn real red like you said does it look like this?

Xystichromis sp. "Flameback"

Here is a better picture then the last. But when showing color there is more red.

Its not an OB. Let me see what I can find.

Those are my best guesses.

I looked at the pictures under the name pundamilia nyererei and those are the closet pictures to him. Same colors and everything. Thanks for the help I will research more on the cichlid forum about these guys.

Look under Hap. sp. Crimson Tide.

That is what it is. Very cool fish.
