| I just moved a pigeon blood pair into a 45g tank. This pair has gotten eggs to the wiggler stage several times in the community. They spawned at some point yesterday so I moved the wood they had spawned on over with them, the female is eating the eggs, oh well, there will be more! Freckles, the male Orange Soda, the female The 45g tank they are in now |

| Fern, You sure have some nice looking discus! Do you use gravel in any of your tanks? | |

| The main tanks are sand, this tank is bear bottomed. |

| Well Orange Soda figured out they are her eggs after she ate a few and is now caring for them! Ya I planned on a full tank shut down during spawning and for like 10 minutes after wards.
The canister is on the tank because I didn't have a seeded sponge I could steal, the sponge in there was dry for several weeks.
The java fern should work for them to move the wigglers to when they get that far.
The stick in there with their eggs on it is the same stick they have always spawned on and it is in basically the same position as it was in the main tank. |

| Eggs are still there as of this morning. I know it is rare that you can move the parents and eggs and not have them get eaten! |

| Ain't that the truth! Freckles is the one that is paired with 2 females But I will only keep fry from him and Orange Soda, The other girl Blue is a blue diamond so that isn't a good mix.... |

| From what I understand also if you raise the fry in a very light colored ie sand background deco they will have less peppering. This is just something I've heard throughout the years. |

| Well the tank they are in has a darkly tinted glass bottom. But ya later on fry will be over sand. |

| Hi fern, Can you tell me the name of the strain of your female, and maybe where you got her. Yours is the second discus I've seen with that coloring. | |

| I got her from a breeder friend locally, some call her pigeon blood, some call her tangerine..... discus names are very unreliable, so many people are making up names for them.
No fry..... the pair are fairly skittish in the tank.... I am probably going to put more java fern in there and see if that helps. |

| They were complete freak outs in the 45g very very uncomfortable. I just moved them into a heavily planted 29g in hopes that they will be more comfortable in a forest environment. |
