Today while I was giving my tank a good cleaning my wild congo pulled an excape act. I carfully removed all the decor then decided to do a quick fish count and sure enough I was minuse one cichlid, OH Sht were is he I freaked out and started checking all my rock and decor but couldnt find him. Were is he damn it! I grabed a large conch shell I had in my tank but i didnt see him, so i filled it with water just to check and sure enough out he swam gasping for water (if you will). He must of been out of the tank for atleast three minuets if not more but he is still alive. A lesson well learned never trust a stressed cichlid.

Yeah Lessoned learned. They like to hide in the rocks and shells. I have lerned the hard way on that aswell. It also was a Congo Calvus lol!

Once I had a fish jump out and I did not notice it. I found the fish dry on the floor. I figured she was dead. I tossed her in the tank just to check and she started slowly wiggling. 10 mins later she was A ok! WOW I was surprised. She had to be out of the tank for 5-6 mins if she was dry.

i am glad he was okay!!!!!!

i have a clown loach out of the water for 35 mins as it was in some rocks i removed to clean the tank. he ended up making it some how. not really sure how tho. i have also had 2 young tropheus red moliro exit a tank in a rock. i cleaned the tank and then decided to place the rock in another tank. the rock was out of water for like 10-15 mins. when i looked in the tank i placed the rock in a was shocked to find the two guys. at first i couldn't believe what i was seeing.
