my ugly 29 gallon :)

4 bolivian rams, one cichlid that i forgot the name of lol, 1 iridecent shark, 2 albino coreys, 1 emerald corey, 2 glass cats, one pleco, 5 black skirts, and i just took out my big female firemouth because shes beating up every fish in there.

Welcome to the BOX. The only ugly tank is a tank with dead fish do to lack of care and concern. Yours is beautiful.

I was just kidding cause he called it ugly:) I think it looks very Cichlidy and clean!

Corys do much better with sand and so do plants. I see 3 female corys in there, the first, 3rd and 4th pic are females just so you know

You should see some of my breeder tanks, there were can talk ugly no flare only setup for nookie housing.

And I was hoping to find an ugly tank to compare to mine, pfft. Looks good to me.

I think it looks nice. I planted w/plastic plants case I'm lazy lol but my fish are doing fine...... Keep up the good work!

You could remove half of that gravel and give the fish more room to swim. That would be a start. Also, the cories will get barbell erosion from the gravel. May want to think about a sand substrate.

i just got a complete 14 gallon setup tonight for only 40 BUCKS :), im gunna put bamboo in it. any ideas on the fish i should put in? and ill prolly take some gravel out of my 29 gallon anyways to put in it.

The gravel will help seed the tank with beneficial bacteria. In that size tank, you really don't have a ton of options. Smaller community fish would be good.

yeah tahts why im puttin it in ide rather have white sand but owel ill just save the money.

$6.95 for a 60lb bag of fine play sand. Works great. Just saying...

yeah, i talked to a guy earlier bout getting the white crystal sand from home depot. maybe ill just go check it out tomorrow. what else can i do to speed up the process?

Nice tank, well done,

Take a small sample of the gravel and put it in a cut off piece of pantyhose and hang it in the tank. That will see it the same while having the sand in the bottom. Once you've successfully added fish and finished your cycle, you can remove the bag of gravel.

ok sweet and how long should i wait to add my fish if i do that?

You could add 1-2 fish right away and then add slowly (1 per 1-2 weeks) after that
