| yes they are hybrids but they sell. people want color and these are cheap. you have to remember that there are several different types of fish keepers. not everyone wants WC or f1 fish, some people dont even care about mixing fish from different ecosystem. those are the types of people i deal with at work. for that reason i also carry hybrids for the people who dont care and just want colorful cheap fish.
im getting them from a breeder.

| Just flat out wrong bro. Making man made fish for money is just wrong. Bad for the hobby, bad for the fish. All the people I know would rather have a pure breed fish then a hybrid, that is most likley to have a moufunticion sometime in it's life span b/c it is a hybrid. Do what you want you are going to anyways. But Do me a favor and slap the breeder in the face 2 times for me. Hybrids are | |

| You can make money on fish selling natural existing fish, you don't need to create your own "Frankenfish". I'm a peaceful guy but.... nevermind. What you're doing is wrong on so many levels. JB | |

I you're knowingly passing these fish on to others (selling or giving away) then you're just as bad as the breeder. At least you're open about what your doing because most of the hybrid idiots lay low and try to remain hidden. I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a power outage! JB

| Good morning, am going to give you another angle at this, an some folks outhere might not understand this, but here it goes, those fish look to be 6 to 8 inches let me know if my guess correct, if you can achieve that size in 8 mos to a year you may have come up with another solution to a fish farmer for comsuption, those guys could give tilapia a run for its money, you might want to contact some fish farms and see where it goes from there. | |

| That makes sense....Most any cichlid is good eats.... Mooriis are fast growers and very prolific.....
I do have to say that's just sick though! |

This is not a for sale thread....and these fish will never reach the USA market. PS Rico I still love you but you got to understand what the hobby is about. Making man made fish and ruining pure breed species is not one of those things.

| I guess its the same thing with dogs though. I mean there are people out there who want a puggle, or a labradoodle, or a shitzapoo. Its all the same. People want different unique things good or bad for the hobby or what. Its going to happen. I myself have 3 akc yorkshire terriors, akc pug and a chiuahua i adopted. Id never mix breed them for any reason but people do.

You see, Most people would think that is the same thing, But infact it's not. A chow and a pit bull breeding is not similiar to a Moori breeding with a electric blue ahli. You would have to breed the dog with a wolf or a tiger. Then that will be the same thing.

| I see. The only thing is its going to happen. I know its not right for the species but its going to happen. And as long as someone thinks its cool its going to happen more. | |

JB power outage. wow thanks a lot for wishing me a merry christmas. I'm not going to debate with everyone about this fish. The fish will not end up back in lake malawi to hybridize and destroy the ecosystem. I've been breeding CA/SA cichlids for the longest. KMX knows me and has seen all my previous posts. I once too used to be closed minded and a purist but money talks and cow poop walks....... If anyone is that upset about the fish I have pm me for my address!!

| I hear ya but its not about releasing it into the wild. it's about keeping the species pure. | |
