| What camera do you use? What settings do you use? What tips can you pass along to those who want to take pictures of their fish? | |

| I use a Nikon D-40... nothing special. I use the "auto" setting and I take 100 pictures to get 5 I like! Darn fish never cooperate! Honestly my pictures are pretty good, but some of my friends are so good mine always look sub-par. In all fairness most of my fish are african cichlids from the Victorian Basin so they are so pretty a polaroid of them would be nice. JB | |

| I use a Kodak EasyShare Z740. I take hundreds of pictures of my Bettas and at first I couldn't get a dang nice picture. Then after fooling around with it I finally figured it out. I put the fish in a half filled Beanie Box and put a small aquarium lamp on top of it. DO NOT use a flash. When first starting out I would try to get in really close but learned later that it is better to have the camera back a little and then crop it which makes the fish picture bigger and clearer. Here is one of my Betta pictures using this technique.( the plant in the background in a fake plant behind the Beanie Box.) | |

| Great picture! I think thats my problem. I want to get to close for that large picture. Then I can not get the camera in focus. I feed my cichlids a little and they kind of settle down some near the bottom of the tank. Thanks every one for the tips. | |
