I am Growing out some Brilliant Turquoise Discus. Here is a small video i made showing them off. The Male is the only one who has gotten some color. (atleast i think its a male).
Really nice Joe. I just got some about three weeks ago and I love them so far. They are only about 2" and aren't to colored out yet but they are supposed to be blue i hope.

I had about 40 2.5" shipped to me and I housed them in a 120G for about a month. Very calm fish from what I have seen.

awesome i thought they would work but i wanted make sure since i am getting a 100 plus i should just stock with interesting fish lol.i luv the exotic one and they r gorgeous.
IMO if you like angels you'll love discus. They need a excellent water quality so if you are not regular on water changes I would not recommend them. Prone to discus disease if water quality not kept to par. I also think they are for a more mod to experienced fish keeper. Tank size should not be less than 75 gals. as they get huge. Just my opinion.

Never had angles nor do I plan on it. Do they have more or less personality than frontosas? I have been offered some for free once they get older, just trying to figure out if I should make a tank ready or not.

If you're not into angels IMO I wouldn't waist my time with discus, they swim around looking pretty until you feed them.

I think what she is trying to say is that they are rather calm and not as active as say a african cichlid fish. They are calm, cool and colective ...until you feed then they get a litte active. I belive that's a round about of what she was trying to say.

Don't get me wrong I love discus. but usually people who aren't crazy for angels get bored with discus. Kory hit it on the head.
