Balloon Rams? How about some normal German Blue Rams or some Electric Blue Rams?

no the are actually mono argentus, kinda like a brackish water angelfish.
And the balloon rams they have in at my local lfs look exactly like the german blue rams, so i'm guessing they are just different marketing terms? But either way thats what my wife likes so thats what she gets - lol

I've got a couple short clips on my phone of them spitting at crickets and pellets. But never posted videos online so I may need some help with that.

It looks quite nice. So is that an enclosed top to put bugs in for the archers?
If you're ever looking to try live plants in there there are a few that do well in brackish water.

Yeah I'm currently nesting a small mangrove in the hob you can see on the side. I would love to have a few live plants but when I was setting it up I planned on having a scat or 3. And all the research i did showed scat + plants = scats. And yes it is a plexi-glass top comes up about 8 inches with a nice arrangement made by my wife for crickets. It will eventually have a canopy on it with a glass front viewing panel.

next time I am mucking about in search of new plants and fish and I'm in brackish I will try to get you some plants, or at least an ID on whats growing in brackish. Take the mangrove out of the hob and put it in the tank, it will float about till it gets snagged and shoots down roots. I really like the top, it looks good and functional all at the same time!
