Yes you have to remove the female right away after spawning ends. He eate them because that is his way of thinking he's portecting them from her.

i know that part but she was out already thats why i mentioned that he tore the nest the next day but i had removed her already virgin pair too.

Sometimes it takes virgin pairs a few times to get the hang of it. Also if the eggs were not fertile he will eat them.
