Are you planning on breeding them? I see the female has her vertical stripes and is ready to breed. I would breed her to the big Blue guy. How old are they?

alko, purple is extemely rare in Bettas. If anyone ever does they are very lucky. For years people have been trying to breed a true purple strain of Bettas and haven't yet. Even the Asian who are the leading breeders and exporters of Bettas haven't.

i dont know much about breeding them whisper but i may try i only have them in a trio cube so i think its two small to breed but whisper what is this female called they are crown tails so i was told when i purchased them and her they called her splenda idk their age

Well all Bettas are Splendens. She could be anything. Is she a Veit tail, a Crown tail, A HM, Delta tail, or about a half dozen other types. LOL For them to say shes a Splenden really leaves it up in the air. If she is just a common Veil Tail which is what you usually see in the chain store pet departments I wouldn't cross her with your beautiful Crown tails and brake that strain. If you ever get to were you want to breed any I would get a female that you know for sure is a Crown tail from a reputable breeder for your boys.

About there ages: If you purchased them in a chain store there fish are usually either old, out breed by breeders or a color that the Asian breeders don't like for showing or breeding. The fish in the pet stores are imported from the Asian who are the largest exporters and breeders of Bettas in the world. These fish in the stores are there reject fish that they don't want and that's why they sell them so cheap. My Black boy that is my avatar is a very rare Pheno Melano Black HalfMoon and can go for anywhere from $60.00 - $80.00. He is from Thailand and after saying what I just said about the Asian breeders I must add that they also breed excellent quality show fish. There fish are some of the most beautiful fish in the world.

wowwwwwww yup these are very nice how big of a tank or bowl do they need to breed i had some breed in a double bowl and they died after two weeks i lacked knowledge about feeding fry so idk if to try again

The Dalmatian is pretty. I loooove the Black and white HM male but they aren't recognized by the IBC ( International Betta Congress) Where are you getting these pictures from? On line? I know there are some beautiful pictures if you google Bettas.

They are from other forums I belong to, or used to belong to. There are two breeders that provided a majority of these pics. They understand quality.

I just wondered because I can see flaus in some and didn't really think that they could all be show Betta. Some are very good some are just so so.

ricardo. I use a 2.5gal. for the breeder tank. If I end up with a huge batch then after about three weeks I will divide them up into two tanks. Then like the batch I have now there are about 300 of them in the two tanks. When they become 6 wks I will move all of them into 3 ten gallon tanks for growing them out.

I'm getting him from a friend of mine who shows Bettas. He's from her show line. He could go for up to $40.00. She's also including his sister so I will be breeding them in a little while. That's how you breed Bettas. Brother to sister.
