| Looks nice, I really like how you have some plants coming out of the skull! You need to take that bamboo out before it dies and fouls up the tank, its not an aquatic plant. |

| cool, awesome tanks.. well done! keep sharing with us with any changes you make!
i see the lucky bamboo in your tank. let me know how it fares, cause i have been wanting to put plenty in my tanks for a while now. they are low light plants that grow slowly with limited lighting... i have several big pots at home in water dishes.. i have access of them at a pretty decent price as compared to LFS....

| The bamboo will only work if the top is out of the water, if its fully submerged for a long time it will die. |

| To start, thanks for the compliments. Well, I did pull the bamboo out of the tank, but not because of its health. I found that as long as I keep them in the air stream of an airstone or power head, they get enough oxygen to survive. Fern is correct in that they will not thrive fully submersed as they need oxygen and cannot absorb it from the water like aquatics plants. The reason it came out is that the wife found a new toy she decided would look good in there. It's hard to tell from the pics, but there is a rotating LED light in there that looks pretty cool. Here are a couple pics of the new discus in their 80 gallon home. I hope they grow quickly. They look puny in that huge tank!! The cichlid tank (with the volcano) is set up on a bench in the game room, and the other tanks came with stands. I've only built stands for some of the smaller tanks so far. I will be building a set-up similar to Kory's in the near future as we have several fish trying to breed. As soon as I can come up with a few more small tanks, I'll have to build "racks" for them to house the fry. | |

| those things are small, hope they do well for you, are they acclimated to your normal water or you have to do some tweaking to make them happy? | |

My BF had been wanting one of those LED volcano's... I won't let him put one in my tanks. |

| Those little guys are only dime size right now. That's alot of tank for them. 80 gallons for 9 dime size discus!
I took pics of some of my other tanks as well, but can't create an album in the gallery. I didn't want to have page after page of pics in a thread. I'll have to spread them out a little bit until I can create a gallery album.

I got them from a local breeder. He uses r/o water for breeding, then moves them into de-chlorinated tap water when it's time to remove them from their parents. We have moderately hard water here, so I will slowly start softening it to make them more comfortable. I know discus and angels prefer softer water, so I try to keep their tanks a bit on the softer side to (hopefully) facilitate breeding. We've already got angels trying, so I must be doing something right.

| They seem to like it pretty well. Not sure how long it will stay, though, as it took alot of room that had been used for caves. I know several have taken up residence underneath it already, though. | |

| I figured it would happen, as well. The volcano may have to go elsewhere, it's not like we don't have any other tanks to put it in... I also need to get that 55 in my garage re-sealed so I can pull those yellow labs out of there. It's getting a little crowded now that they are all growing up! Really crowded with them trying to make babies!! I wasn't planning on them spawning yet (durned kids! )!! | |

| Yes they did!! They look very good in their new home and love swimming through the air bubbles coming out of the volcano. The bumblebee has been making himself "king of the tank" right from the start!! Our friend has already tried to figure out a way to get him into her tank! | |

| Yeah, from the start, the bumblebee has always been like that. I've never know one to grow as fast as he did and I have had 5! It was like everyweek he would grow half an inch until he was that size. The two snow whites are really active! They will def keep you guys amused. Well, glad to hear that they made the trip home without problems. | |
