| Friday we got 6 or so inches of snow and a 12 hour power outage..........My tanks are in the garage where I put tarps over them to try and keep heat in...........The tanks got into the 50s before the power came back on...........All my fish seem to have survived and I am totally amazed.......I will be watching them closely for a while in case there is a delayed onset of disease. | |

| That is GREAT that they survived! Sucks about the 12 hour outage though. | |

| Wow.... 50???? And nobody passed? Amazing. Glad your power is back on. We had 12" of snow and 200,000 people in the DFW were w/o power. Let's go spring time! | |

| Everyone should have enough battery operated air pumps for every tank for just this reason, they are $1 or so at any bait and tackle store. I know they won't help temp wise but they will keep the water moving and that is a very big thing so that your fish don't suffocate. Dano, may I suggest some stress coat as a preventative. |

| that really suks Dano ,, and yes preventative stuff like stress coast is definitely recommended. Actually you are better off winter power outage for the fish (not for you), they handle it a lot better than a summer power outage.. total lack of oxygen in tank, and they die very quick. had that happen to me after hurricanes... | |
