| First topic message reminder :my clowns were acting a little funny last night and one look just bad, i woke up this morning and he was still hanging in there. so i went to petsmart and got some stuff and set up a quarantine tank for my fish. and after 3 hours of being in the tank with some copper they allready look 50% better i hope my clowns make it, ill be devastated if they die.... heres the best pic i could get ps. i pulled all my rock yesterday to redo it, in the process of that my wrasse was hidding in a little hole lol he was out of water for about 3 mins and he is NOT doing good. his tail and head are beat up from flopping around in the rock :( these are the last of my saltwater fish and id like for them to not die lol

| Does anyone ever do a freshwater dip? I don't like copper because you need to know alot about your water perameters. Also you can lower the salinity and that works without meds. I handle lots of saltwater fish. The freshwater dip is a KEY part of introducing fish. You will be suprized what will come off the fish. The clown in the picture has to much ick to try a freshwater dip. Also copper has to be removed by water changes. Hence you will never rid your aquarium of copper. |

| i have tried freshwater dips before, only complaint i have is that it stresses the fish way to much. especially tangs and angels. i like high temp low salinity and if that dont work i move to copper in a QT tank. i have never had an issues with any fish except my regal and they are prone to get it anyway. now when my tang gets it i leave him be and he snaps out opn his opwn ina couple of days. |
