| First topic message reminder :Ok so here is a rundown. I have a 90 gallong African Tank, I use salt, PH 8.2 and do water changes. I added about 20 fish in the last month, only 2 in the last week. In the last week i have lost 5 fish that i know of: 2 yellow tail acei, 2 snow white socolofi, 1 blue zebra. And i have notice white stuff and sores on some of my peacocks as well as these fish that passed on... i jsut notice yesterday.. In the last 2 weeks i have, swept gravel, done 2 waters changes, added holey rock, and added two wild caught fish. Here are some pics, please help me diagnose what it is, what is causing it and how to get rid of it

| UPDATE:
Switched to the Melafix/Pimafix combo on tuesday. Too little too late. My big baenschi and Red top Lwanda called it quits. So now everyone that was infected didnt make it minus the red in the pics, he is doing good. Days like this and news like this is what makes it hard to keep trying. In the last 4 days i have lost $100s of dollars, and spent about 50 just on meds. I hope it gets better.... | |

| It will get better, it has to!!! That is one of the rubs with fishkeeping, happens. I have killed fish & had fish die from looking at them wrong. It bites, trust me I know, but hey at least you get to get new fish... | |

| I noticed you said you added a lot of fish at one time. was the tank cycled? How long had it been set up? White stuff could be a slime that the fish produce to counter bad water. Should check you ammonia and Nitrie lvl. Nitrate wouldn't have done this to you. | |

| Yup that's what my fish looked like before they died when I first set up my tank and started adding alot of fish. Luckily Joe saved what he could. Get your water tested ASAP. | |

| sorry to hear that! Hope things get better for you! I find myself staring at my tanks for a good 20 minutes every few days just to make sure none of the fish are showing any "ill" signs. I have been blessed enough that I haven't lost a large group of fish. .. yet. Good luck! | |

| My rule for adding fish is to add two at a time and I have a list of every fish in the tank at all times. That was if the tank looks off to me I take roll to make sure they are all there lol. | |

| I am pretty sure it is all cleared up. After the melafix/pimafix combo, i swiched to api fungus clear and it looks like everything is good now. I did test my water, Ph was 7.8, nitrite and ammonia test 0. But the nitrate tested about 50 ppm. So i did about 4 water changes in the last week, added another filter ( magnum 350). I think i am good now. I wont add alot of fish anymore, maybe that will help. | |

| i think you just need to go to your lfs and get as many wild caughts (including cool catfish) as you can! that should fix your issue. lol |
