| Okay, I know there are different kinds of NLS, but none of the ones that I have been able to find are specifically for herbivores. So. . .my question is. . .is the cichlid formula okay for ALL cichlids?? Even herbivores like tropheus?? Thanks! | |

| Tropheus are notorious for "bloat", an intestinal disorder that can be triggered by diets heavy in animal proteins. To minimize this, feed primarily algae based foods such as a good spirulina flake.
It's also a good idea to provide alot of light to encourage algae growth on the rockwork.
I fed mine Nutrafin Max Spirulina Flakes and every now and then some freeze dried krill. I don't think NLS has a blend especially for herbivores. | |

| I feed my trophs nls cichlid formula aswell as nls thera a. I have never had a case of bloat. As long as you don't over kill on the feeding you will be fine. I feed all my 30 trophs about 1/4 tsp in the morning and in the evening. Sometimes I feel like its not enough for all them. | |

| Thanks! I feed mine spirulina at the moment, but I think I am going to start feeding both spirulina and NLS. :) At least until I sell them. | |

| I have been feeding all my trops NLS cichlid formula with spirulina flakes for years now and never had bloat at all!!!! I now presently have 8 diffrent types of trops and are breeding like crazy and the colors are mind blowing!!! What works for me is that in the morning I would feed them NLS, In the evening, spirulina and daniichi veggie deluxe. Like I was saying before, I have had nothing but great sucsess this way. It all goes to say is that everything done in moderation is best!!!! It is to better under feed a fish than is to stuff one!!!!!! Give it a try and you will see what I mean.
