| Only the start. 2x4 and cinder blocks. Im going to double stack it. Do you guys think the three 2x4's will hold a 55g? It seemed pretty study. | |

| Just the one. Im going to stack more blocks and do the same thing on top. So its going to be a double 55. | |

| Um that looks a little iffy to me. I would at least run something down through the cinder blocks so you don't bump them and it all comes crashing down. |

| You should put a few cinder blogs under the tank as well to make sure it doesn't dip, i know 2x4's are pretty sturdy but they aren't indestructible. Otherwise i think it looks great, maybe cement the cinder blocks together so you don't accidentally crush your tank if one of them falls off onto or in it. Otherwise it looks very sturdy :) You shouldn't have too much of a problem with it. | |

| Did you complete your project yet?
If not, an idea....
If you want to stay with the cinder block idea, the only thing you need to do to make it structually sound is to build frames with the 2x4s. Don't lay them flat like that--you give up most of the strength. Turn them on edge and build a rectangle. Once you put everything together and fill the tanks, the 1000+ pound of weight on the cinderblocks means that you won't be moving them with a casual bump! | |

| Fern, ya may want to reconsider building it that big. I was goin to make mine bigger, too, but then I remembered that I can be kicked-out of my house at any time without warning and will need to move it. So I'm goin to make another one just like the first one so I will have two that is easier to move rather than one large one that isn't easy to move.

| I don't plan on moving it. Plus the will be like this l l l l instead of - - like you have yours. I am using old 2x4's that were wall studs. I wont be buying much of it new. I think I have plywood and brackets on hand as well. It is going to be built like a brick house when I'm done. I don't have too much floor space to work with either. |
